Privacy Policy

ShopFair has no accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising and no trackers. Your name, values and questionnaire answers are saved only on your device, never uploaded or sold. The only things that ever leave your device are the specific lookups and messages described below, and none of them include anything about you.
What stays on your device
Your name, your chosen values, your basket questionnaire answers, your saved preferences and your theme. You can export or reset all of it at any time in the app's settings. If you delete the app, this data is gone, we never had a copy.
What leaves your device, and when
- Barcode scans and product searches. The barcode number or product name is sent to Open Food Facts, a community product database, to look up the product. Nothing about you is attached.
- Receipt scans. The app asks before your first scan. If you agree, the receipt photo is sent to OCR.space, a text-reading service, solely to read the text. The photo is deleted after processing, is never used to identify you, and ShopFair never stores your receipts. What the receipt says stays on your device.
- Things you choose to send us. Feedback, error reports, brand suggestions, or (only if you tap send) the names of items or barcodes we didn't recognise. We receive what that form shows, the text or item names, plus the routine technical details that come with any online form. Never your receipts, photos, profile or answers. These messages are delivered to us by Web3Forms.
What we never do
- No analytics or usage tracking of any kind.
- No advertising, no ad identifiers, no data sales, no data sharing beyond the lookups above.
- No account, so nothing to breach and nothing to delete on our side.
